  4.     Thanks for trying GALAXY.  We think you'll find GALAXY to be one of the
  5.     fastest, easiest to use word processors available today.

  8.     To start the program, from the DOS prompt type
  9.  
  10.           GALAXY
  11.  
  12.     and press ENTER.  The program will prompt you for the name of a file to
  13.     edit.  You can enter GALAXY.DOC to load the included Reference Guide.

  15.     You can also automatically load a file when you start by including  the
  16.     name of the file on the command line, like this:

  21.     To  leave  GALAXY,  type  ALT-X  (X for eXit).  This key combination is
  22.     typed by first pressing the key marked "Alt", and then, while the "Alt"
  23.     key is still down, pressing the "x" key.

  25.     You  can configure GALAXY for your computer and your preferred settings
  26.     for colors, margins, default printer,  etc.,  by  running  the  INSTALL
  27.     program or by using the "saVe parameter file" command from the Defaults
  28.     Menu.

  31.     ABOUT SHAREWARE

  33.     GALAXY  is  being  distributed under a unique marketing method known as
  34.     Shareware.  The Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP) offers the
  35.     following definition of Shareware:

  37.           Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
  38.           before  buying  it.  If  you  try  a  Shareware program and
  39.           continue using it, you are expected to register. Individual
  40.           programs differ on details  --  some  request  registration
  41.           while  others  require  it,  some  specify  a maximum trial
  42.           period. With registration, you get anything from the simple
  43.           right to continue using the software to an updated  program
  44.           with printed manual.

  46.           Copyright  laws  apply  to  both  Shareware  and commercial
  47.           software, and the copyright holder retains all rights, with
  48.           a  few  specific  exceptions  as  stated  below.  Shareware
  49.           authors  are accomplished programmers, just like commercial
  50.           authors, and the programs are of  comparable  quality.  (In
  51.           both cases, there are good programs and bad ones!) The main
  52.           difference  is  in  the  method of distribution. The author
  53.           specifically grants the right to copy  and  distribute  the
  54.           software,  either to all and sundry or to a specific group.
  55.           For example, some authors require written permission before
  56.           a commercial disk vendor may copy their Shareware.

  58.           So, Shareware is a  distribution  method,  not  a  type  of
  59.           software.  You  should  find software that suits your needs
  60.           and pocketbook, whether it's commercial or  Shareware.  The
  61.           Shareware  system  makes fitting your needs easier, because
  62.           you can try before you buy. And  because  the  overhead  is
  63.           low,  prices  are  low  also.  Shareware  has  the ultimate
  64.           money-back guarantee -- if you don't use the  product,  you
  65.           don't pay for it.

  67.     Registration  licenses  you to use GALAXY Version 2.4. Any unregistered
  68.     use other than trial use to determine if GALAXY meets your needs  is  a
  69.     violation of our license agreement and is forbidden.

  71.     Single user registration is available for $59.95 per  copy.  Registered
  72.     users  will  be  sent  the  most  current  version of the program and a
  73.     printed  reference  guide.  Registration  also  entitles  you  to  free
  74.     telephone support.

  76.     The  GALAXY license authorizes use of one copy of GALAXY on one machine
  77.     at  a  time.   If  you  have  multiple  computers,  either  standalone,
  78.     networked,  or  multi-user, you need to register one copy of GALAXY for
  79.     each workstation on which it will be used.
